This highly complex effort has evolved perfectly with a delicate and mature nose that makes one think of the sea shore with background hints of flowers and citrus. The precise and pure medium-bodied flavors are equally delicate and fine while brimming with an intense minerality and beautiful acid/fruit balance. This is crafted in an understated style with simply wonderful transparency and the mouth feel is pure silk. - BH

Pale and very definitely interesting! Superbly poised, dancing white fruit and flowers hovering like butterflies on the palate. There is more weight on the palate than the otherwise equally fine 2002 vintage, and the fruit offers an intriguing mix of ripe lychees and saline notes. Altogether riveting and now reaching its prime. - JM

As is often the case, the Blanchots is a bit bigger and a bit more forward than the Montée de Tonnerre in 2000, but it will certainly age well and long as well. The nose offers up notes of cassaba melon, lemon, oyster shell, spring flowers and chalk dust. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and quite complex, with excellent depth and delineation, fine, almost opulent fruit on the attack, and great length and snap on the complex finish. 94+ - JG

Big and brooding, this also demonstrates intense honey, biscuit and mineral notes and though young, great harmony among all the elements. This has concentration and clarity, with a long, long finish. (BS) - WS
