We are honored to present, in this week’s single-cellar web auction, 975 selections from the uniquely profound and extensive cellar of Frances and Terrance James Leighton.  Terrance James Leighton, a scientific trailblazer and unique wine personality held in great reverence, significantly reshaped the California and French wine landscape alongside his wife and fellow scientist, Frances.  Together, they redefined what was possible for California wine as winemakers for their own winery, Kalin Cellars, and influenced winemaking processes in France by consulting as microbiologists with well-known estates in Burgundy and Bordeaux.  Their wines, which thrived in the 1980s, utilized methods practiced in the European regions that had captured their hearts as young graduate students.
