"A mildly reduced nose features honeysuckle and acacia blossom notes introduces sweet, rich and beautifully complex flavors of impressive purity and vibrancy with brilliant length. A terrific effort that has the hallmark softness of Pucelles while retaining a firm and tangy, indeed almost linear finish that displays more minerality than usual."

The 2004 Pucelles is a tad reduced as well, but clearly shows superb components underneath. The bouquet is quite minerally as well (not always the case for the more buxom Pucelles in its youth), offering up notes of peach, lemon, apple, crème patissière, minerals and a fine framing of oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and very transparent, with excellent depth at the core, crisp acids, and a very long, complex and impressive finish. Another superb bottle in the making- it will be interesting to see whether this or the Combettes ultimately hits the highest mark.

Slightly tired nose shows a flinty note of reduction. High-pitched, even a bit hard-edged, in the mouth, with intense apricot and peach flavors framed by strong acids. Finishes long and brisk. This should age well.
