The two sectors, Clos St Marc and Pasquelles, are blended together. Pale lemon yellow. Plenty of energy to the nose, a banana note, quite concentrated. Very aromatic all through with some verbena. Now picks earlier to avoid too much exuberance, though you can tell this wine wants to head that way. What might have been a little dip towards the back end soon fills out. Drink from 2026-2030. - JM

The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers 1er Cru has a pure and perfumed bouquet with yellow fruit, marzipan and light almond scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a touch of white pepper and orange rind mixed with tropical notes towards the finish - peach and passion fruit. You might suspect this comes from a warmer growing season. - VM
