“The 2021 Riesling Hallgartner Jungfer Grosses Gewächs was grown on mica schist mixed with quartzite. the nose has a touch of reductive fling but then relaxes into lemons, green apples and creamy yeast. The palate is juicy, slender, concentrated and bouncy with yeast. It is serene, bright, absolutely honing on a central streak of ripe lemon and an intense, ocean-like umami note. There is a slight diffusion with lactic notes, but the lemony brightness shines. Intense, long, slender, resonant with long-lasting lemon notions. (Bone-dry) Drink 2025-2050.”
