Disgorged in February 2020, the latest release of Selosse's NV Extra Brut Grand Cru Le Bout du Clos offers up complex aromas of golden orchard fruit, almond paste, yellow plums, beeswax and spices. Full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it's tightly wound after its recent disgorgment, with racy acids, elegantly muscular structuring extract and a youthfully frothy mousse. Long and penetrating, I can't wait to encounter it again with a little bottle age. - WA

The (2010) Extra-Brut Ambonnay Le Bout du Clos is decidedly gracious and feminine in this release. A wine that speaks in hushed tones, the Bout du Clos is floral and bright, with perhaps a bit less textural intensity and power than is the norm. White flowers, cranberry, white pepper and mint add aromatic complexity throughout. Disgorged December 2016. Dosage is 2.1 grams per liter. (AG) - VM
