An exceptionally pretty, even perfumed, nose speaks of very spicy aromas of rose petal, sandalwood, Asian-style tea, soft earth and cherry plus a touch of secondary influence. The rich and nicely supple medium-weight flavors possess an unusually refined texture for Bonnes Mares along with excellent length on the vaguely sweet finale. There is a touch of backend austerity, and I wouldn't describe the overall impression as seductive, but this is really quite good, indeed it's excellent with some upside development potential remaining. - BH

Still youthful crimson, with a lighter rim. There’s a bundle of energy on the nose, with a clear precise yet outgoing fruit. Pleasingly full on the palate with no sense of exaggeration, and a very long finish for this vintage. A lovely wine now showing at full potential. - JM
