Moderate wood surrounds the spicier nose that consists primarily of dark cherry, cassis, floral and exotic tea nuances. There is an unusually lush and generously proportioned middle weight plus flavors that exhibit excellent intensity and a light minerality while delivering really lovely complexity on the balanced and highly persistent finale. Once again I underscore that this is clearly built-to-age and is going to require at least moderate patience. - BH

Medium red. Pungent minerality lifts the vibrant fruit aromas of red and dark berries and cherry. Tactile, saline and suave, showing a very ripe, almost candied quality to its slowly mounting cherry fruit. Wonderfully silky wine with superb tannins and length. - VM

The 2014 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru has a beautiful, very fragrant bouquet that has exquisite delineation and complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite saline in the mouth with sappy red berry fruit, a hint of cola percolating through with a very focused, harmonious finish. This is an exquisite expression of the vineyard, a wine with a long future ahead. - WA

2013 was first vintage. Vines 40+ years old. Mid crimson with a pale rim. Good focus and sweet macerated cherries nose. Rather liqueur-like. Very structured. Lots there. Good bite. (Drink between 2022-2036) - JR
