Good dark red. Very ripe but youthfully muted aromas of redcurrant and smoky, spicy oak complicated by licorice and crushed rock nuance. Harmonious acidity giving definition and shape to its red and darker berry, spice and mineral flavors. Displaying its high-altitude lift in its energy and precision. Finishes classically dry and very long, with firm but ripe tannins and alluring floral perfume and crushed-stone minerality.

Tasted blind, the 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots performed brilliantly, bursting from the glass with a stunningly complex bouquet of ripe cherries, rose petals, smoked duck and dark chocolate, complemented by exotic top notes of Asian spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and lavish, with a dramatic but controlled profile, structured around satiny tannins and juicy acids, and concluding with a long, expansive finish. Deep and multidimensional, this is an exceptional Reignots from Louis-Michel Liger-Belair. - WA
