Roasted in an earthen pit and bearing the flourishing red crest of the family’s ancestors, Siembra Valles Ancestral is one special tequila. It is the only tequila in several hundred years to be hand macerated, smashed with oak mallets by tequileros for hours until the roasted juices are all extracted. Fermenting without any added yeasts, Siembra ensures its drinkers enjoy tequila just as they would have thousands of years ago. With notes similar to mezcal, this is a smoky, immensely complex tequila with citrusy lemongrass and pepper notes on the palate and nose, and a full bodied, honeyed and grainy green tea on the finish. There is no other blanco quite like this one on the market.
