Reviews & Scores
Spicy, floral and wonderfully pure black fruit aromas that give way to flavors that are sweet, delicious and remarkably supple, indeed even more so than the Clos de Vougeot yet the finish is very firmly structured and there is excellent mid-palate punch and sap. This is an absolutely gorgeous wine of real depth and striking style. Wow! - BH

From a parcel in the “Cruots” sector of its vineyard, the 2002 Echezeaux bursts forth with toasty blackberry and cassis aromas. Its awesomely-textured character reveals sensual, oily layers of red cherries, candied raspberries, and spices that linger in its sultry, seductive, and prolonged finish. Drink this concentrated beauty between 2007 and 2018. (PR) - WA

Deep, bright ruby-red. Discreet nose hints at red berries, licorice, mint and minerals. Suave and fine-grained, if a bit subdued today. Sweet red berry flavors show excellent clarity and a restrained sweetness. Best today on the slow-mounting, very subtle back end, which features rather gentle, lush tannins. - VM
