The 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Clos is superb, unwinding in the glass to reveal notions of citrus oil, white flowers and smoke mingled with hints of crisp stone fruit, pear and fresh bread. Full-bodied, layered and muscular, it's deep and nicely concentrated even in this abundant vintage, with lively acids and a long, saline finish. - WA

Once again, the nose is markedly cool and reserved with its prominently floral and citrus-suffused aromas of wet stone, shellfish and pungent iodine wisps. The sleek, sophisticated and focused larger-scaled flavors brim with minerality and a reasonable amount of dry extract while the driving, chiseled and linear finish is strikingly long. Interestingly, this doesn't possess the same density as either the Blanchot or the Valmur but it is already more complex and so compact that it's clear this is going to require extended cellaring to arrive at its apogee. Beautiful pale colour and an immediately delicious heart-warming nose. The volume opens out very well on the palate, while the oak is perfectly integrated. Then the marine Chablis notes and acidity kick in behind. Lovely wine, albeit clearly not as concentrated as the fabulous 2019. - JM

A Chablis of eternal beauty, the 2018 Les Clos Grand Cru possesses extraordinary aromatic intensity and soft, silky contours that are so wonderfully inviting. As always, Clos is a wine of textural beauty matched to a sense of elusiveness that makes it hard to describe. From barrel, the 2018 is mesmerizing and haunting in its profoundness. I can't wait to taste it from bottle. - VM
