Pale lemon, attractive, this wine is better balanced in that the texture is less thick and offers greater length while the fruit covers the acidity. There is a little barrel toast, though only 20% new wood was employed, and the fruit is more pear than apple. All quite well integrated with decent length. Drink from 2025-2029. - JM

The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos de l'Arlot Blanc 1er Cru, matured in 20% new oak, was taken from tank on the lees, due to be racked right after my visit. This is perfumed and seductive: wild peach with orange blossom and light blackcurrant leaf aromas, quite Meursault-like. The palate is well balanced with a fine citrus edge: orange pith and fresh pear, a touch of stem ginger, composed and harmonious on the finish. Delicious.- VM
