Giuseppe Rinaldi’s 2009 Barolo Brunate, from my cellar, is divine. I can’t say I am surprised, as a recent bottle was every bit as compelling. Soaring aromatics and bright, red-toned fruit are immediately alluring. In the glass the 2009 displays uncanny freshness, especially for a fifteen-year-old Barolo from a warm, challenging vintage. This is pure and total seduction. The perfect wine for the right moment. - VM

There's a clarity of fruit in this wine with a perfumed and aromatic quality that is delicate and sensual. Full body, silky and refined tannins and a long, caressing finish. Balanced and beautiful. Brunate is the vineyard of 2009 vintage. - JS

The 2009 Barolo Brunate - Le Coste shows immense beauty with a delicate aromatic embroidery of dried tobacco leaf, cigar box, dried cherry, laurel leaf and licorice. Of these descriptors, tobacco remains by far the most noticeable. The wine glides smoothly over the palate thanks to its integrated tannins and exceptional silkiness. Five to ten more years in the bottle will undoubtedly usher forth even more beauty to behold. (ML) - WA
