A hint of matchstick character can be found on the otherwise wonderfully fresh, cool and elegant aromas of floral, citrus and exotic tea nuances. There is really lovely delineation and vibrancy to the medium weight flavors that display the hallmark minerality of a classic Genevrières, all wrapped in a refined, bone-dry and chiseled finish where a touch of youthful austere slowly emerges. - BH

The wines from upper and lower Genevrières have been made together. Pale lemon and lime. Quite fine, distinguished even. A racy structure, plenty behind, even a tannin or two, while keeping the style of the vintage. Fine long aftertaste. Very good fruit acid balance. - JM

The 2021 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru contains both Dessus and Dessous this year, which are normally bottled separately. It has a light apple blossom and yellow plum scented nose that needs a little more vigour. The palate is taut on the entry, with fine depth and plenty of energy. It's quite discrete in style but builds in the mouth towards quite a sappy finish. This deserves a couple of years in bottle. - VM
