From a 0.2-hectare plot in the Rothenberg that has water even in dry years, the 2021 Fenchelberg Riesling trocken GG (Auction) is very clear and coolish, herbal and flinty on the ascetic but elegant nose. Round and lush on the palate, this is a pure, very elegant, savory and finessed dry Riesling with crystalline acidity and a stimulating, saline finish that reveals good and refreshing grip with clear and juicy fruit. Good phenolic structure. This is a very elegant and refined dry Riesling that will be auctioned in September. 12% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022. - WA
