Reviews & Scores
Bright medium yellow. Nose dominated by lemon zest and vanillin oak. Silky, concentrated and harmonious; in a rather rich, even creamy style but features lovely mid-palate floral lift. Sweet flavors of white peach and vanilla show no hard edges or austerity, but this wine's energy suggests that it will need more time in bottle to harmonize than the Clos des Bouchères. This very nicely balanced Charmes finishes with serious rising length. - VM

Reduction. On the palate there is excellent vibrancy to the lightly mineral-inflected and very rich middle weight plus flavors that possess good precision on the dry, balanced, mildly austere and solidly persistent finish where a hint of citrus zest appears. This is very Charmes in 2016 and perhaps not quite as refined as it usually is. - BH

From the lower part of Charmes, which was a bit frosted. Pale colour, tight bouquet, white fruit and even some flowers. Concentrated, good tension, then the more classical rounded aspects of Charmes behind, picking up nicely at the finish. - JM
