A beautifully layered, cool, pure and airy nose reluctantly reveals its aromas of Granny Smith apples, acacia blossom, fennel, Asian-style spice and a plethora of citrus elements. The racy and borderline painfully intense larger-scaled flavors possess cuts-like-a-knife delineation on the impressively powerful, focused balanced and hugely long finish. This very classy effort should drink well after only 5-ish or so years, but it clearly has the stuffing to continue to improve for a decade or more. (Drink starting 2030) - BH

Glowing pale lemon. The bouquet is wonderful, that pure white fruit limestone which Chevalier excels in. Light on its feet despite the exceptional intensity, lemon fresh towards the bank and with as long a finish as you can imagine, just building a little flesh on the bones the longer it continues. - JM

The 2020 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru comprises of two 350-litre barrels (one new). This has a beautiful bouquet with orange zest, crushed stone and light white flowers scents that gains intensity with aeration. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, taut and fresh, perhaps just needing a little more mineral tension to evolve on the finish. Still, this has impressive length and concentration and it should age supremely well in bottle. (Drink between 2026-2050) - VM
