Reviews & Scores
A fresh and distinctly cool nose is comprised by airy and laudably pure notes of red pinot fruit, green tea, earth and soft spice hints. There is a beguiling sense of underlying tension to the detailed and precise middleweight flavors that possess fine balance and excellent length on the saline-suffused finish where a touch of sweetness slowly emerges. This could use better depth, but the potential aging curve should allow more to develop. - BH

The 2021 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a well-defined bouquet with bright red berry fruit, crushed stone, orange pith and light bay leaf aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit on the opening, fine acidity, quite dense towards the finish with a dash of white pepper and allspice lingering on the aftertaste. Very fine. - VM

Mid red to crimson colour. A lively, even quite exuberant strawberry fruit. Building steadily, with a sumptuous volume in the mouth, especially in relation to the vintage. A light and pleasing oak element at the back. Quite long, and certainly fine. - JM
