The 2015 Vosne-Romanée Aux Reignots 1er Cru is showing a lot of new oak on the nose, although there appears to be sufficient fruit underneath to subsume that with time. The palate has a sorbet-like freshness on the entry, plenty of energy and tension interwoven from beginning to end, and hints of marmalade and blood orange that enliven the finish. This is a superb Aux Reignots. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2023-2050) - VM

The 2005 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots sees service back to normal after the 2003 and 2004: bold red berry fruit infused with potpourri, wilted rose petals and orange blossom. The definition here is superior to previous vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, good depth and the most impressive nuance and complexity since Louis-Michel's debut. There is a captivating spicy note coming through on the finish that fans out gloriously. This is very fine. (NM) - WA

An unusually cool array in the context of what is typical for the 2015 vintage is composed by notes of superbly elegant and pure dark berry fruit, floral and a wonderful panoply of spice elements. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the refined, intensely mineral-driven and beautifully delineated flavors that culminate in a superbly long, lacy and lilting finish. This is textbook Reignots of class and grace. In a word, stunning. (Drink starting 2027) - BH
