A little more yellow fruit here, the bouquet is a touch riper yet with the airy floral touches one wants. On the palate, this could not be better. There is a wealth of generous fruit yet still with a lightness of touch, electric detail, and superb length. The oak is beautifully integrated. Tasted: November 2018. - JM

The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a steely yet airy bouquet that does not quite entrance like the excellent Chassagne-Montrachet this year. But it is still very well defined, and it gains intensity with aeration. The palate is concentrated with a light honeyed note on the entry, veins of marmalade and quince betraying the slight grillé in the vineyard this year. A lovely Puligny that will be difficult to resist in its youth. - VM
