Proof that I'm not prejudiced against Guigal Côte Rôtie. This is a lovely wine. Modern in idiom certainly but with lift and richness as well as a sweet elegance. This lively wine is so accomplished as it dances across the palate that it is almost burgundian. - JR

Deep garnet-brick in colour, the 1990 La Mouline presents earthy / meaty aromas over an undercurrent of leather, sandalwood, dried plums, anise and dried mint. Elegantly constructed in the mouth with silky tannins and gently refreshing acid, the flesh is rich and opulent offering mouth-filling dried berry, meat and spice flavours that linger with great persistence. - WA

Irresistible. This lush, concentrated wine is spilling over with gorgeous raspberry, floral, toast and smoke flavors; it's intense, lively and long. *#2 on the Top 100 Wines of 1994* (TM) - WS
