The 1997 Vosne-Romanee Beaux Monts exhibits red fruits, roses, and candied orange wines in its profound aromas. This tannic, backward, and hyper-concentrated wine is powerful and intense, yet elegant and precise. If this wine can cope with its very present tannins, it will prove to be stunning. - WA

Fine concentration and sweet fruit mark this successful '97 red Burgundy. Flavors of black cherry, olive and spice, midpalate fat and a solid structure lead to a long, persistent finish. Well done for the vintage. - WS

Deep red-ruby. Precise, floral aromas of red fruits, flowers and minerals; less superripe and perhaps more vineyard-specific than the Boudots. High-pitched, fine and light on its feet. Really impressively delineated and lively. Fruity but with firm underlying backbone. Firmly tannic, pure aftertaste. - VM
