From a reconditioned bottle that does not appear to have been cut in any way as the color was correct, which is to say with heavy bricking but only the barest trace of browning. Not surprisingly the nose is dominated by plenty of sous bois with undertones of warm earth and spice notes that can also be found on the delicious and still intact medium full flavors that offer good richness and excellent length. This was an impressive showing for a wine of such venerable age from a vintage regarded as only slightly better than average. - BH
