Bright, dark red with ruby tones. Rich, complex, rather claret-like aromas of plum, black raspberry, iron, licorice, violet and graphite, with complicating notes of caramel and mocha. Large-scaled, rich and ripe, conveying compelling sweetness to its red berry, mocha and mineral flavors. Not the most delineated vintage for this bottling but remarkably plush and full. Finishes with big, ripe, dusty tannins and outstanding lingering sweetness. - VM

The deep garnet colored features gorgeous crushed plums, spicy blackberries, crème de cassis and Chinese five spice with potpourri and nuances of dried herbs, lavender, black tea and loads of crushed rocks, tilled soil and underbrush accents. Full-bodied and absolutely laden with earth and spice accents, it has a firm and grainy texture with exhilarating yet seamless freshness, finishing very long.
